Also from the Wikipedia link above, Pranayama (Sanskrit: प्राणायाम prāṇāyāma) is a Sanskrit word meaning "extension of the prana or breath" or more accurately, "extension of the life force". The word is composed of two Sanskrit words, Prāna, life force, or vital energy, particularly, the breath, and "ayāma", to extend or draw out. (Not 'restrain, or control' as is often incorrectly translated from 'yama' instead of 'ayama').

Best!

I posted the following on my Facebook and Google+ yesterday:

I met a couple from Berne, Switzerland at Madras Coffee House while assisting them with the menu! I had gone there to meet a friend who's a world champion arm wrestler. We're trying to do work for the society, especially for youth and women. A few projects that we're considering are related to pollution and self protection for women. I wish that we would make an increasing amount of positive difference to the society including by working with leaders. The Suisse couple and I spoke a bit about ourselves and the world. The man has been to India several times. This time they enjoyed several places. I had shared with them on how Suisse can a play major role in bringing peace to the world. I think that they're returning tonight and that I wish them a Gute Reise! which is "Have a good trip!" in German. I also shared my card with my www.personalfoldersoftware.com site on it that has my contact info. Perhaps I would meet them again perhaps in Suisse itself! Also, I had met a puppeteer from Suisse at Dilli Haat last year and that I think that I also have her visiting card and that I should write to her some time. Lovely!!! Shakti Saran
