What are the symptoms of migraine

Migraine is usually associated with autonomic symptoms with self-limited, recurrent severe headaches.

Approximately 15–30% of people with migraines experience them with an aura and they also often have migraines without an aura.

The severity of pain, duration of headache and frequency of attacks vary. A migraine lasting more than 72 hours is called a status migraine.

There are four possible stages of a migraine, although the experience of all phases is not necessary.

Prodding, which occurs hours or days before the headache
An aura that immediately precedes a headache
Pain phase, also known as headache phase
Postdrome, effects experienced after the end of a migraine attack

Migraine is associated with major depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

These mental disorders are about 2–5 times more common in people without aura, and 3–10 times more common in people with aura.
