Types of cosmetic injectables

In today’s world, everyone wants to get quick fixes; people want to get results fast. When it comes to beauty, that is now possible with non-invasive injectable fillers. Injectables have become popular because they are non-invasive and they lead to faster results. Before you decide to get an injectable, you need to be aware of all the options you have.

There are many types of injectables:

Neurotoxins such as Botox work since they relax the muscles on the face by blocking nerve impulse. Facial muscle is no longer capable of contracting so that it can reduce the frustrating wrinkles. Botox is an injectable used to reduce wrinkles at the forehead, eyebrows, and crow’s feet. It should be used as a treatment after every four months in order to maintain a youthful look. Some side effects may include mild nausea, temporary headaches and bruising at the injection site.

Dermal fillers are type of injectables which include hyaluronic acid like Juvederm and Restylane. They are used for treating sagging skin, folds and deeper wrinkles. The results are achieved when a liquid thicker than neurotoxin is injected deep within the tissues in the face. It is a type of injectable used for plumping the under-eye hollows and wrinkles while it enhances your lips giving a lift to the sagging skin. A dermal filler injection is a remedy for collagen loss. The injection should be given by a certified plastic surgeon and the results usually last for over six months. Side effects of the injections are eye drooping and other types of distortion of the face when the injection is administered in an incorrect manner.

If you want to get injectables therapy, you should start by consulting a plastic surgeon.  You can find that there are many surgeons around you, but you should ensure that you are getting a board-certified surgeon to make sure you are in safe hands.

After choosing a surgeon, you should book a consultation to discuss your expectations, goals and concerns. When going for a consultation, you should not put on makeup so that the surgeon can see clearly what needs to be done.
