Today after an awesome LESMILLS RPM class, I asked the instructor on whether there's a recommended way to breathe during the class. Another person there said that thinking logically, it would be breathing quickly at short intervals. He also said that he has seen cyclists do that and that he even performed the breathing action.

However, the instructor said to take long deep breaths which she isn't able to do in the class because she has to keep speaking in the class. I told her that I would research more on it and that would share with her. Perhaps the other person meant well while sharing on this, however, this person had neither shared based on scientific research nor had mentioned a particular top competitive cyclist who breathes like how he had mentioned.

I think that people might even genuinely want to help others, however, for which they might even do so incorrectly and that which could even be seriously harmful to the other.

One of my goals with our Health and Fitness India network is to keep sharing from scientific research and from top professionals worldwide. Best! Shakti Saran

  • It was good to take decision about health and fitness by your family, friends and your trainer they actually tells us to how to maintain our body fit

  • really it was a good idea

  • I think all activity which we are doing should be a specific way, but practically it will not possible to maintain. As I am saying our hand movement during walking must have a particular rhythm. Besides our foot step and when we are standing maximum people giving more pressure in one leg and standing slight bent. So lots of rules we need to main for perfection, we have to try for how maximum we can follow.

  • What is your fitness trainer doing for you? One can say to client to not know and that will find out and get it done. However, this can be highly unfortunate for clients and for the professional. A conversation with some fitness professional:

  • The owner of a gym isn't a certified fitness professional and that from the physique doesn't seem to have gained a significant level of fitness experience. While I was talking to him, some members had come to him and that had mentioned about having some other equipment in the gym on which he had responded there and then that why such equipment shouldn't be there and that what else those members could do for the same exercise. Whether he was correct or not, the members didn't seem to have a convinced look when they left. I had then suggested to the owner to have dealt with this differently. I suggested that he should've invited the members to the office at a convenient time and that then a well-certified trainer (they've an ACE trainer) should've been there to respond to the members. I wish that this gym will be of value to an increasing number of people since it has nice facility, equipment, and trainers and that for which I wish that their management would keep making better and better efforts. • I told the owner of a gym that a day ago some member was doing the LESMILLS BODYPUMP workout incorrectly as I had watched the session from outside. He had told me that the trainer has many certifications including American Council on Exercise (ACE), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), LESMILLS, and others. I told him to watch the BODYPUMP class along with another well-certified trainer (they've an ACE trainer) through the camera in the studio and that ask the other trainer whether any members were doing movements that could hurt them to seriously hurt them if they later increased the weights while doing the same movements. If so then he can share with the BODYPUMP trainer to also give more attention to the movements of students. I've also suggested him to ask the trainer to have BODYPUMP technique sessions.

  • Today I saw a person doing cycling on LeMond RevMaster Fitness bike, however, the handle was shaking as she was peddling it. I went to her and showed her the several things on how to properly setup the bike and that told her that she could've injured herself like that. As I left the gym, the cycling trainer was just coming in and that I introduced this person to the trainer so that she can get proper guidance from the trainer. I also told her that whenever she uses any fitness equipment, she should ask a fitness trainer on how to properly use it. I've noticed several times that people exercise without asking a professional fitness trainer on how to do exercises properly and that I think can even seriously injure the person. Recently I was working out with a personal trainer and that someone had get smiling at me because of the noises that I was making while lifting very heavy weights. When I had spoken with her, she had told me that she has only recently joined the gym and so she doesn't require a personal fitness trainer and that I had told her that this is the time when she really needs one both for avoiding injuries and also for getting a much better fitness workout during the same time. • Hi All, I would also like to share here that not only just learn as best as possible including from experts and through research but also practice as best as possible what has been learnt of value. On Friday, someone at my gym's lounge after exercising was having fruits (and had also offered to me because I had sat close to him) and that also had a cup of soup on the table and that had also mentioned to have eaten something else. I mentioned to the person on a few different things related to diet including to not eat fruits with other things and to eat several things at an interval and not all together. I also mentioned to the person to learn on the same from the gym's dietitian who seems to be an expert and also nice. The person responded to have already discussed with that dietitian, however, would discuss again. I wish that I sharing with this person would really be of value to this person including because of the time spent which I could've avoided but then I've interacted with that person a few times before and that I thought that it would require a few minutes for me but possibly a value addition for lifetime of this person. I do wish that I sharing here would be of value to several people like those find this post online. If you like this post then I request you to kindly share it with others because it seems that many people might be following incorrect inputs of family, friends, and others. Best! Shakti Saran
