Things you must do to manage your gym effectively.

Things you must do to manage your gym effectively.

It’s a perfect start for your gym, more than sufficient space, world class equipment, appointing the best trainers & staff, and more importantly a line of potential clients heading to the front desk post your marketing campaigns.
Now the challenge is to keep the tempo moving up. There are few basic things you need to take care, if you are looking to grow with your Gym, Studio and Spa.
Here we have come up with a short list of things you should not miss for ideal management.
Reception:
The Receptionist is the face value of the gym. Make sure your reception is trained to be polite and make the potential clients and members feel comfortable.
They should be also prepared about angry clients, late comers, no show up from the trainers and handle situations that are raised very calmly.
Make sure that they appreciate clients where the brand is represented effectively.  Let them take pride in customer service.
Sign up process:
Sign up process should be smooth and easy. It should also be proactive. But not at the cost of irritating the potential member.
The sign up stages should be predefined and followed. This also helps to maximise conversions as you exactly know on which part of the pipeline sales are dropped or stand still.
Feedback:
It is a good practise to know what your members want and the problems they are facing. You won’t always have 100% satisfaction, but getting closer is not bad. Close down the problems that the clients face.
Give ears to their opinions, not all the clients will always come to the desk and speak up, but those who do, understand and help them out.
Importantly, one bad review from the client, is not the end of it. You can always improvise and come back better.
Employee First!
This is what Richard Branson a serial entrepreneur talks about his office culture.
Simply keep Employees first, clients second and investors third, this way everyone would be happy.
He simply says take care of employees and they will take care of your clients.
You can create lucrative incentive offers to motivate your staff and trainers.
Keep the trainers updated:
Trainers are the one who interacts with the clients everyday, their knowledge and hospitality will ensure the chance of the client to come back and train every day. There are plenty of updates that do come in everyday. It is important that trainers are updated.
As an administrator makes sure that the trainers are trained, and have in-depth knowledge of exercise science and sports.
They need to be soft spoken, and know how to motivate people to do their best, while also taking care that the clients are trained in a safe environment. Trainers should also understand the limitations of their clients and suggest exercises
that won’t affect them in an adverse way.
Safety:

This is the major part of the gym, make sure the staff is trained for basic safety measures.
Make sure the room is clean and all the equipments are working properly and in place. Weights kept on the floor, is more or less waiting for an accident to happen.
Keep the gym layout clutter free.

Maintenance and operations:
Remember one thing, member comes to workout, so all the necessary equipments should be in order. If possible have an early maintenance contract with the vendors so that the functioning of the machines is monitored.
Let the hygiene be maintained and the changing rooms be kept clean.
Make sure the operations are taken care of, if there are any classes that take place, make sure they start on time and trainers are at a place in time.
These are the basic things you must take care of in the gym.
