Are you considering Sculptra?

Sculptra is a cosmetic procedure which works subtly yet gradually over some time to give you a youthful appearance. It does not work like the Hyaluronic acid fillers, but stimulates the natural production of collagen in your skin. This helps to restore the inner structure of your skin and increases lost volume. This is a one time treatment which may include 4 injections given in sessions set 3 weeks apart.

What is Sculptra?

Approved by the FDA, Sculptra is made with biodegradable and synthetic material called Poly L Lactic acid. This is biocompatible which means it is naturally absorbed back into your body with time. Sculptra helps to rebuild the collagen your skin lost with age with the number of treatments you receive.

Facial aging happens owing to the decline in collagen in your skin and Sculptra helps restore it. The wrinkles and deep folds on your face are hence reduced with the treatment. It is a perfect procedure for the reduction of smile lines, marionette lines and wrinkles on the chin.

What is the Sculptra treatment like?

Collagen is found within the deeper dermis where it supports the structure of your body and this is where your trained doctor will inject the Sculptra. About 3 injections are given during one appointment and with time, Sculptra promotes the reproduction of lost collagen. Depending on the condition of your skin and the changes desired, your doctor will determine the number of injections and appointments you will require for your treatment. It depends on the amount of lost collagen that requires restoration.

What are some side effects of Sculptra treatment?

Getting Sculptra injections might leave some tiny lumps at the site of injection. This is not serious though and you will find that the lumps reduce on their own with time.
