Breast Augmentation is a plastic surgery procedure that is performed to enhance the shape and size of a woman’s breast, usually through the placement of an implant behind each breast. It is also done using the patient’s own body fat. The breasts are enlarged by harvesting the fat from another part of the patient’s body, like the buttocks and abdomen.

An increasing number of women from different parts of the world visit India to undergo this procedure. The main reasons for the increasing popularity of breast augmentation in India are not only the affordable cost but also the world-class facilities and infrastructure that the plastic surgeons offer. Care and quality of the treatment provided by the plastic surgeons in India are at par with any other western country. If you are considering this procedure to enhance the shape of your breasts then read on to know about the implant shape.

Breast Implant Shape

The shape of the implant would have a profound effect on how your bosoms look after the procedure. While you might have a preferred shape in your mind, it is essential to know about the available options before settling on the one.

The two main shapes of breast implants are round and teardrop. There are several factors which determine the right shape for you, including:

  • Where you want to have incisions made
  • Your body type
  • Where you want the placement of the implants
  • The amount of breast tissue you currently have

Round Breast Implants

It is the most commonly used implant that resembles a compressed sphere.  It can vary in term of projection, and from low to high profile. Women who want to have fullness in the top parts of the breasts will consider high-profile, round implants. Patients who choose the round implants do so for the fullness, lift and cleavage. Contrary to it, there are some patients who feel that round implants look artificial and thus choose the tear-drop shaped implants because of the natural appearance they give. One of the main advantages of round shaped implants is that they will not change the appearance of the breast if they rotate. The implants can be smooth or textured, and they are usually less costly than teardrop implants.

Teardrop Breast Implants

They have sloped contours that are fuller at the bottom than at the top, giving the shape of natural breasts. Though the upper part of these implants is not as full as the round implants, they give greater projection than round shaped implants with the same amount of volume. Women who are looking for breast enhancement results that look more natural, teardrop implants make for the right choice. Teardrop implants costs more than round implants. They have to be textured in order to keep the implant from distorting and rotating the shape of the breast.

Your plastic surgeon would help you choose the best implant shape.  To make the most of your breast augmentation surgery, make sure you choose a board-certified and experienced surgeon.

A nose job can create better harmony and balance with your other facial features by reshaping a nose that may look too small or too large. A nose job can change the size and position of the nostrils, bumps and dips in the bridge, the width at the bridge and the shape and size of the tip of the nose. And, unlike most other plastic surgery procedures, teenagers can have rhinoplasty done too, helping them feel more confident about their appearance as they enter adulthood.

You should be able to find this information online before you even schedule your consultation, but it’s not a bad idea to double check at your appointment. You can also ask about his or her other credentials, including any memberships or affiliations with accredited medical organizations, as well as the credentials of other staff members who may be involved in your procedure.

Rhinoplasty is one cosmetic procedure that is performed for both aesthetic and functional reasons. While most people prefer undergoing rhinoplasty surgery in India, they have no or little clue of preparing for the procedure. Here we bring you a quick guide to prepare for nose surgery.

Prior to the surgery

Before the nose job, there are many steps that you have to take to speed up the recovery, reduce the chances of complications and minimize post-surgery discomfort.

Diet

In the weeks prior to the surgery, it is important for patients to eat healthy food. Intake of proper nutrition would speed the healing process while minimizing the risk of developing an infection. Specifically, patients should eat plenty of whole grains, vegetables and fruits, and lean protein. Equally beneficial are nutrition supplements. Your plastic surgeon might recommend particular supplements, including bromelain, and vitamin A and vitamin C.

At the same time, patients have to avoid some type of foods and supplements that might trigger surgical complications and slow healing process. Patients should steer clear of ginseng, gingko, vitamin E supplements and ginger. Some herbal and homeopathicsupplements can also cause complications with anesthesia. Thus, check with the doctor before adding additional nutrition to the diet plan.

Many doctors advise patients to stop drinking alcohol at least one to four weeks prior to the surgery.

Smoking

Use of nicotine and tobacco can slow blood flow throughout the body. As oxygen does not reach the incision areas quickly, smokers might take a much longer time for recovery and unfavorable scarring and high risk of developing the infection.  You should quit smoking at least one to two weeks before the rhinoplasty surgery.

Medications

Those who are preparing for nose surgery should inform their cosmetic surgeon about all the medications they are taking. Some medications can cause problems after or before the procedure. The surgeon might prescribe a safer alternative or take off of a medication. Usually, intake of medicines such as ibuprofen, aspirin should be avoided as they can cause blood to thin.

The day prior to the nose surgery, you should take full rest. In particular, certain medications might be prescribed to make the entire procedure easy for you. The way you prepare for the rhinoplasty surgery plays a crucial role in determining recovery. Following the instructions given by the plastic surgeon is the most important thing if you are considering undergoing any plastic surgery procedure.
